The Current Grayville Carnegie Library |
The Grayville Carnegie Library was one of nearly 2,500 libraries constructed between 1883 and 1929 with monies provided by industrialist Andrew Carnegie. The split-level style brick building has many major flaws, not the least of which is its failure to fully comply with the Americans With Disabilities Act. |

Front view of Grayville Carnegie Library. The roof shows signs of wear, plus the stairs are not compliant with the Americans With Disabilities Act. |

The back view of the building. A blue tarp covers roof damage, the back brick wall is bowed out, and the side wall has major cracks. |

More photos of the inside and outside will be posted in the near future.
This building has been an asset to our community and has served us well for many years; however, it is quite evident from these photos that the time for a new, modern facility is now. |
